FITC-xtra 异硫氰酸荧光素是美国AAT Bioquest生产的荧光素 ,虽然FITC是用于制备绿色荧光生物共轭物的最流行的荧光标记染料,但是FITC存在某些限制,例如用于显微镜成像的严重光漂白和pH敏感荧光。与相应的FITC缀合物相比,用FITC-xtra制备的蛋白质缀合物是非常优秀的。FITC-xtra缀合物比FITC缀合物明显更亮,并且更加光稳定。另外,FITC-xtra的荧光不受pH(4-10)的影响。这种pH不敏感性是对FITC的重大改进,FITC仅在pH大于9时才发出其最大荧光,FITC-xtra具有几乎相同FITC的光谱特性。此外,FITC-xtra在温和缀合条件下比FITC产生高得多的缀合产率。像5-FITC,FITC-xtra抗体缀合物适合于488nm激光线的激发,使其成为相应的FITC标记的抗体缀合物的替代物。在检测条件相同的情况下,FITC-xtra抗体缀合物提供比相应的FITC标记的缀合物高得多的信号/背景比。
